Fierce Spirit

Fierce Spirit is a brand that likes to break from the norm of feminine products. Their target audience is women in their 20s who appreciate edgy, modern looks and bright colors. These women are starting new jobs and want to feel like a boss. They want to buy soap that reflects how powerful they can be.

Preliminary Work

When I first started working on this project, I gravitated towards the word Fierce. I wanted this brand to be edgy and bold, contradicting most women’s beauty product brands. I used sharp lines, large text, and simple shapes to achieve this effect. The second image shows the potential products and their labels.

The Logo

From my thumbnails and roughs, I was drawn to the idea of fire. Fire is known as motivation and power, so I thought it was a great metaphor for this brand. To replicate the multiple tones fire has in nature, I created a marble effect in Adobe Illustrator. Then, I incorporated a fire shape, along with a bold, sharp-lined logotype that I drew, and the final label came together.

Final Deliverables

The product line for Fierce Spirit included a soap bar, perfume, and lipstick. I used dark gray and black for the labels so the white logotype and supplementary text contrasted well. The logotype I made myself, but the other fonts used are Totally Gothic OT and Myriad Pro.
